birthday was a lovely day! lots of cards in the post which made me feel very loved on the day, and from what Iv been told some present to look forward to over xmas aswell, THANKS :)
me and maurits had a shared birthday night out, as seemed the best things to do. Went to a BYO whihc was lovely, recommended my roommate, I think the should bring the ideas of BYO's to england more, makes going for a meal sooo much cheaper! :)
we then went from the meal to Smokes, the second time using my actauly id to enter the place so that feels good, no more stressing about been underage, although havnt actually had many issues, as places around campus are pretty good. :)
then for a fun filled weekend in NYC!!
me tanya and Catherine went on the thursday after class, had dinner at bubba gump which was lovely. Friday we went up the empire state and then me and tanya went on the GOssip girl tour! was such a fun way to see the city, and meant that you actually saw a hell of a lot of it aswell. that night we went for dinner with JOsh and Nick who came that day, ate at TGI' s which was a let down but hey.. you learn by doing.
Satrday we were joined by Jordan Stacie and Kira, went to pier 17 whihc was lovely, some of us went to Greenwich village, i bailed as was way to cold! Visited Ground Zero. and went ice skating at the rockerfeller centre, we had planned on goin up it, but was way way to busy and there was high chance of missing the bus home had we done so. Maybe not the best thing to do the week before finals happen... but given the choice again i would still go. was an amazing way to spend my 21st birthday. thanks to everyone who helped make it special :) and yes mum... i did take sandy the sodding camel around newyork.. just for you.

thanksgiving in boston
well where to start!
a very long bus ride down.. whihc yes i did sleep the majority off. im starting to feel that my ability to sleep is making these long bus rides a lot more bareable than they otherwise maybe would be.
Arrived late on wednesday and had a little walk around, then just got settled into the hostel.. which was very nice. 4 signal beds and a sink in our room, for $80 for 3 nights you cant really complain!
Thanksgiving day.. did the freedom trail, 3.5mile walk around boston historic sites, lot of the city and definatly the best way of doing in. was extremely cold tho! very very cold... i am starting to feel very unprepared for the winter over here.
then black friday... SHOPPING! got myself a camera, well a 21st present :) so expect a lot more photos on here from now on. 3 fantastic days in a absolutly beautiful city! definatly have to revisit!! but maybe in the summer when its a little less cold!

Day Trip to DC
A very very early start this Friday! had to be at bus stop for 5.50, which meant getting up at 4.45! bad enough at the best of times! However coupled with bed at 3am was a very bad idea
Smokey, the uniion bar, has quizzo every Thursday...and guess what WE WON!! which meant a $50 bar tab and a late night, not the best idea when you have a early morning but still its rude not to drink free beer right! :)
Slept all the way on the bus, much to the annoyance of Tanya I feel who could not sleep. Arrived on DC ready to go and sight see!
Walked around the main landmark sites of the city!
Also visted 2 ABM's how cultural! Went to the air and space meusem, which was good but we didnt stay there for very long.
Then went to the holocast mesuem, which needless to say was very moving and chilling.
Ended the day with dinner at a chinese just in time to get bus back getting into Philly at just before midnight! planning in going back to DC sometime in Januray for a longer stay. A very long, tiring but amazing day! :)

My year so far!
so basically I feel I should create on of these as it turns out that I am useless at telling people what I am actually up to over here, and this way I can tell everyone at once..
Well where to even start... been here for just over 1/2 a semester now so i have a lot to fill everyone in on!
NSO!! or freshers week with a distinct lack of booze, as I like to call it. Sayin that tho the whole time was amazing. We had some pretty dull but expected talks about living in a new place... the definition of 'hooking up' and other random things like this.
Then we had the night at the meusem! this was amazing, the uni rented out the Philladelphia meusem of Art and had a disco in its main area... SURREAL doesnt even cover it, apparently it is the most expensive NSO event in the country and it doesnt suprise me.
Then they are the frat parties! I still cant get my head around them even after been here for 8 weeks!
one we went to in freshers week had a beach in the basement. . . and getting into them is a mission, well its fine if your a girl, but to gain entry you have to have a certain girl guy ratio! its reminds me off every american film i have ever seen.. and i love it!
also in NSO, Harnwell my building. took the freshmen and exchange on a boat trip, which was lovely down the river... driving to the river in nothing less than a yellow american school bus!
When we got off the boat, we then had a late night shooping trip to IKEA with a dj, playing... money to floats around this uni like nothing i have ever seen!
Since uni has started properly uni work is starting to take over my life a little bit more than I would have liked, I was still viewing this as a holiday.. that view died pretty quickly with the constant stream of assigments and midterms that i need to hand in pretty much every week!
I am becoming a American sports fan while i am over here aswell, been to see baseball and ice hockey so far! both where amazing! There was a fight in the hocket match, but Iv now relised that this is the standard over here, and the players only had to sit out for 2mins!
There is soo much more that I could tell you.. but I will keep this up to date from now on!!
